As President of ACES, Phil Kenealy knows firsthand, the challenges of utilizing technology to meet business needs. While admitting he doesn’t know the “in and outs” of how it all works, he knows that he likes the freedom technology gives him. As a young man, he started selling a software that never quite seemed to work the way it was meant to work. When that company closed its doors Phil bought the networking division and started Computer Pros, which later became ACES (our corporate name remains “Computer Pros, Inc.”). Phil has a BA in Financial Management from the University of Northern Iowa. Phil is known around the office as the man with a random slogan for everything, one of his favorites is, "Let’s shoot for the eagle so when we bag the pheasant, we won’t have to eat crow”. Phil also knows how to enjoy life. He loves motorcycles so you’ll find him riding his Harley around town with his wife. He also enjoys golf and spends time reading. Phil also makes an emphasis on urging his staff to set right priorities in their lives. Encouraging family time and down time.
How did you get into technology
Got a job in the early 90′s selling software that didn’t work. Spent my evenings on the phone with the development team fixing the applications that I had to demonstrate the next day on a portable computer (by the way, that portable computer weighed 20 pounds!). When the company folded in 1995, I bought the networking assets and hired their network engineer and started Computer Pros, Inc.
What do you like best about ACES?
